BGSU’s Christopher named to NCAA infractions committee
INDIANAPOLIS – Bowling Green State University director of athletics Greg Christopher
has been named to the NCAA Committee on Infractions.
Christopher will serve a three-year term beginning Sept. 1.
The Division I Committee on Infractions explores cases of alleged NCAA rules
violations, which are presented to the committee by the NCAA enforcement staff.
The committee must determine the facts of alleged violations and, if warranted,
impose penalties on institutions and/or individuals found to have committed one
or more major violations.
Lake to host youth
cross country races
MILLBURY – The Lake varsity cross country program will host a series of seven youth
cross country races during July and August.
The races will be held at Veterans Park in Millbury, located on Fostoria Road,
between Woodville Road and Ohio 795.
Races are open to runners entering kindergarten through sixth grade. Runners from all
communities are welcome. Kindergarten through third-graders will run a half
mile, and fourth- through sixth-graders will run a mile.
Dates of races are this Saturday, July 21, July 28, Aug. 4, Aug. 11, and Aug. 18.
Races begin at 8 a.m.

Hotmer, Ruch select
four-year schools
Lake High School graduate Ryan Hotmer and Eastwood graduate Clayton Ruch are among
five Owens Community College baseball players who will continue their careers at
four-year schools.
Hotmer will attend Saginaw Valley State University. The first baseman batted a
team-high .329 with 24 runs batted in as a sophomore last season.
Ruch will attend Wayne State University. A right-handed pitcher, Ruch set the
single-season saves record (seven) in his only year with the Express. Ruch
played at Cleveland State University as a freshman before transferring to Owens.

The others attending four-year schools are Daniel Heatherly, Jeff Davis and Michael
Louis.
Heatherly, an infielder, batted .273 with a team-high 26 RBI.
Davis will attend Adrian College. In two years at Owens, Davis compiled a 6.27
earned-run average and a 2-4 record.
Louis will attend the University of Findlay. An outfielder, Louis hit .214 with 16
runs scored as a sophomore.
Owens’ Hollister
signs with Dearborn
DEARBORN, Mich. – Owens Community College softball player Michelle Hollister has
signed to continue her career at the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
A sophomore, the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference player of the year hit
.383 with an on-base percentage of .449 and a slugging percentage of .692 while
adding 37 runs, 46 hits, 18 doubles, two triples, five home runs, 13 walks and
48 RBI.
