Rotary District conference begins today at SeaGate

TOLEDO -The Rotary District 6600 conference opens today and runs through Sunday at the SeaGate Convention
Centre.
The keynote address will be given by Past Rotary International President Cliff Dochterman.
Rotary International Polio Plus Committee Vice Chairman John L. Sever will discuss recent advances in the
Global Eradication of Polio and the valuable contributions Rotarian have made in this important
international effort.
District 6600 Gov. Helyn Bolanis will address the convention on tonight at the opening dinner.
Rotarians will also hear presentations about Medical Equipment and Supplies Abroad (MESA), "We’re
This Close" Polio Eradication, Rotarians Under 40- The New Generation, Peacemaking through the
Group Study Exchange, Reach Within to Embrace Humanity and Peace Scholars are Key to the Future.
The conference marks a 10-year period of District 6600 giving of thousands of volunteer hours and gifts
totally over $20 million benefiting Northern and Central Ohio community projects. District clubs also
gave more than $7.5 million to support Rotary International’s Annual Program Fund over the last decade.
