COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio Gov. John Kasich (KAY’-sik) says a
decision by Moody’s to upgrade Ohio’s credit rating, marks the first
time in nearly five years that all three major rating agencies have
deemed the state "stable."
Kasich announced the Moody’s upgrade
from negative to stable on Friday. Standard & Poor’s similarly
improved the state’s credit outlook in July.
The state has held Fitch’s second-highest AA+ credit rating since at least April
2010.
Kasich said it is the first time since February 2007 that Ohio has had three stable
ratings.
The
Republican governor said it a statement that he’s pleased that "efforts
to make Ohio’s economy stronger are getting noticed."
