Owens men post win
The Owens Community College’s men’s basketball team defeated Cuyahoga CC 64-61 Friday
in the Region XII District 10 semifinals.
The Express (24-7) advance to the championship against Lakeland Community College at
1 p.m. today. It is the first appearance in the Region XII title game since
2006-07 for Owens, and they have made a 14-game turnaround from last year’s
10-21 season.
Justin Edmonds led Owens with 17 points and five assists. Other top performers for
Owens were: Franklin Lindsey, 14 points, nine rebounds; Jay Marquette, 10
points, three assists, three steals, and four rebounds; and James Kelly, 10
points, four rebounds.
Owens women lose
The Owens Community College women’s basketball team lost to Sinclair CC 92-88 in
overtime in the Region XII District I semifinals to end the season at 25-6.
Hayley Galvan’s jumper with 29 seconds left in regulation tied the game at 78 for
Owens. Sinclair out-scored Owens 14-10 in overtime.
UniquaMitchell scored 19 points and had 10 rebounds for Owens and teammagte Karahn
scored 198 points and had 19 rebounds. Other top performers for Owens were: Aja
Hall, 15 points, nine rebounds; Emma-Jean Ricketts, 12 points; and Mackenzie
Heacock, 10 points.

Falcon baseball loses
AUBURNDALE, Fla. — Bowling Green’s baseball team fell to 3-10 overall Friday with a
12-4 loss to Bradley (6-4).
BGHS graduate Matt Vannett hit a solo home run for the Falcons, while Jesse Rait was
4-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a double.
Northern Titans plan
meeting for AAU basketball
PERRYSBURG — A parent meeting for the Northern Titans, an AAU spring girls basketball
team, is Tuesday night at 7 in the Perrysburg High School library.
The team is open to players in current grades 7-11. Anyone who would like

Bradner coed softball league formal
BRADNER — A coed spring softball league is forming in Bradner.
The league will start in late April or early May. Teams will play doubleheaders on
Sundays for five straight weeks and a post-season tournament.

Otsego staff to take on 13ABC basketball team
TONTOGANY — The Otsego staff members will play the 13ABC news team in a basketball
game Wednesday night at 7:30 in the high school gym. The game will benefit the
Otsego Athletic Boosters.
Women’s golf league
forming at Riverby
The Wednesday morning 18-hole women’s golf league at Riverby Hills is looking for new
members. A pre-season meeting will be held April 11 at 9 a.m. For more

Northwood to host youth baseball tournaments
NORTHWOOD — The Northwood U10 ComeBacker Classic tournament will run May 9-13 and the
U-12 Curtain Call Classic tournament will run May 16-20.
Each team is guaranteed three games. Cost is $150 and each team will be required to
pay for one umpire prior to each game.
