Owens Community College recently elected Diana Talmadge and Richard Rowe to serve as chair and vice chair
of the college’s Board of Trustees.
This will be Talmadge’s third term as chair of the board; Rowe succeeds R.J. Molter, who served in the
post in 2011.
"I continue to be absolutely amazed by our students and our faculty and our staff and I really enjoy
working with you all," Talmadge said.
At the meeting, the board additionally recognized Owens Community College’s Raising Awareness Club with a
student excellence award for its members. The group has put on a number of projects over the past year
to increase attention for various causes, including the Sweet Caroline Golf outing, which raised $2,000
for a young girl diagnosed with liver cancer, and a Father/Daughter Princess Ball, with a portion of the
more than $4,600 it raised being donated to a foster agency.
