Pemberville man among those indicted Jan. 18

A Pemberville man is facing charges of tampering with evidence and harassment by
inmate regarding two related incidents.
According to court documents, on Oct. 30, Zachary D. Ringler, 25, of rural
Pemberville, ripped up currency to "impair its value" after knowing an
investigation was under way.
After he was in custody in the back of a Perrysburg city police cruiser, he is
alleged to have spit over the top and sides of the divider which caused an
officer to come into contact with his bodily fluids.
He was among those indicted by a Wood County grand jury on Jan. 18.
Robert Speelman, 24, of Oregon, who was in custody in Wood County jail on an
unrelated charge was indicted for escape. On Dec. 6, he was granted a furlough
to visit his wife and newborn son in Bay Park Hospital, Oregon, from 9 a.m. to 2
p.m.. He failed to return at 2 p.m. resulting in the escape charge.
Daniel Jones, 34, of Toledo was previously indicted in January for attempted
pandering of sexually oriented material involving a minor. In the Jan. 18 grand
jury session, he was additionally indicted for attempted tampering with
evidence.
Others indicted include:
• Alexander Long, 20, of Oak Harbor, for felonious assault in regard to an Oct. 1
incident.
• Shane Ludwig, 32, of Weston, two counts of tampering with evidence.
• Jesse Vardaman, 25, of Toledo, for breaking and entering and theft from a Rossford
residence. He and another man were painting at the residence, and are alleged to
have returned later unauthorized to break-in and steal tools.
• Adam M. Holman, 23, of Bowling Green, two counts of trafficking, and one count of
drug possession with a specification for the possible forfeiture of $1,044 in
cash. The charges stem from three separate incidents in February and March of
2011.
• Misty Dienst, 27, of Portage, and Destiny Dienst, 19, of Bowling Green, four counts
each of trafficking regarding incidents on two different dates last June.
• Emmette D. Gilkie, 36, of Detroit, Bernard J. Pitts, 42, and Herman Ford, 36, both
of Lima, co-defendants, each indicted with drug possession for 91.4 grams of
heroin. Each indictment included specifications regarding possible forfeiture of
a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro and $267 in cash.
• Charles Owens, 32, of Toledo, theft of a license plate.
• A Bluffton couple, Steven Johnson, 34, and Tonya Johnson, 36, were each indicted
for theft in regard to a check for more than $4,300 last March.
• Leigh M. Foust, 31, of Curtice, for drug possession.
