LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — The RV industry, which has been hard
hit by high fuel prices and the economic downturn, will showcase its
newest models at its annual trade show in Louisville.
The show
attracts corporate leaders and dealers, who will get an update on how
the industry is rebounding from the recession and the outlook for the
coming year.
U.S. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar is the scheduled
keynote speaker at the kickoff event Tuesday morning at the state
fairgrounds.
The show will feature an array of RVs that are
smaller, lighter and more fuel efficient than past models. RV makers
also are increasingly using green technologies.
Indiana is the leading producer of RVs in the U.S. The vehicles range from entry-level pop-ups to
spacious motor homes.
