Eastwood tries to stay perfect
Eastwood’s football team attempts to remain undefeated Friday night.
The Eagles, ranked eighth in Division IV, are 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the Northern Buckeye Conference.
Following is a preview of the games involving Wood County schools:
Springfield (2-5, 0-4)
at BGHS (4-3, 1-3)
The Bobcats can guarantee themselves of a .500 season for the first time since 2008 with a win over
Springfield.
BG hasn’t won six games in a season since 2007 when it was 6-4.
The Bobcats are coming off back-to-back losses to Anthony Wayne and Southview, while Springfield has lost
four in a row.
The Blue Devils have scored just 10 points in those four losses and haven’t scored the last two weeks.

Napoleon (2-5, 1-3)
at Perrysburg (5-2, 3-1)
Perrysburg needs a win to stay in the Northern Lakes League race.
The Yellow Jackets are tied with AW and Maumee for second place, one-game behind Southview (4-0).
Napoleon has lost to Maumee and AW the last two weeks.
Eastwood (7-0, 4-0)
at Otsego (3-4, 1-3)
Eastwood can’t afford a loss if it wants to play third-ranked Genoa (7-0, 4-0) for the outright NBC
championship on the final night of the regular season Oct. 28.
The Eagles also are striving to finish first in their region and host a first-round playoff game.
Otsego, once thought to be a contender for a top-four finish in the league, has lost three in a row and
four of its last five.
Elmwood (3-4, 1-3)
at Rossford (1-6, 1-3)
One team will pick up its second NBC win of the season.
Lake (3-4, 2-2)
at Fostoria (2-5, 2-2)
The winner takes sole possession of third place in the NBC.
Before losing to Eastwood last week, Fostoria had won back-to-back games after losing 19 straight games.

Fremont St. Joseph (2-5, 1-3) at NB (2-5, 0-4)
North Baltimore seeks its first Midland Athletic League win.
St. Joseph has lost two straight.
Lakota (1-6, 0-4)
at Seneca East (5-2, 2-2)
Lakota is coming off a season-high 34 points against Mohawk last week.
Seneca East had a two-game winning streak ended last week.
T. Christian (2-5, 1-3)
at Northwood (6-1, 4-0)
Northwood has a championship game at Ottawa Hills next week, but it must beat defending TAAC champion
Toledo Christian first.
The Rangers lead the TAAC at 4-0, while OH and Edon are 3-1.
Northwood also is in the thick of the fight for a state playoff berth, which might include a first-round
home game.
