Prep Roundup: BG boys, Perrysburg girls advance to golf districts (10-5-11)

Bowling Green’s boys and Perrysburg’s girls each qualified for the district golf tournament on Wednesday.

The Bobcat boys finished second at the Division I sectional at Thunderbird Hills to advance to the
district tournament at Red Hawk Run in Findlay on Oct. 13.
The Yellow Jacket girls finished fourth at the Division I sectional at Detwiler to advance to the
district tournament at Eagle Creek in Norwalk on Oct. 12.
BOYS SECTIONALS
DIVISION I
In Sandusky, BG finished with a team score of 323, one shot behind first-place Ashland.
Avon Lake (325), Norwalk (328) and Lexington (332) also advanced to districts.
The top five teams and top five individuals not on a qualifying team advanced to the district tournament.

Results for BG were: Nolan Dill, 77; Chien Han-Sung, 79; Evan Gardner, 83; Andrew Herringshaw, 84; and
Trey Walker, 85.
Ashland’s Josh Brooks took medalist honors with a 70.
GIRLS SECTIONALS
DIVISION I
In Toledo, Perrysburg shot a 355 to advance.
Bowling Green finished 15th with a score of 413.
Lima Shawnee was first at 336, St. Ursula was second at 340, Findlay was third at 353, Ashland was fifth
at 364, and Southview was sixth at 368.
Results for Perrysburg were: Lauren Diehl, 87; Becca Tudor and Monica Dorner, 89 each; Jenny Lee, 90; and
Liz Andrus, 97.
Results for BG were: Alisha Noon, 98; Erica Rybak, 99; Erin Peterson, 106; Robyn Thayer, 110; and Katie
Hoops, 113.
Lexington’s Ann Jedra was the medalist with a 77.
The top six teams and top six individuals not on a qualifying team advanced to the district tournament.

Eastwood beat Woodmore, 25-22, 25-20. Leaders for Eastwood were: Alexis Cooper, eight points, two aces;
Brooke Purney, three aces; and Bethany Nabors, Bri Hoodlebrink, and Riley Corns, two kills each.
