Woodworker to discuss work; PRIZM holds annual meeting

PERRYSBURG – Master woodworker Michael J. Billmaier will discuss how he plans and creates his pieced wood
vessels, art pieces and functional items from exotic hardwoods Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Way Public
Library.
The event is sponsored by PRIZM Creative Community.
Billmaier has bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology from Bowling Green State University. His
professional background is in residential design and construction; he retired in 2008 as chief of
building inspection for Wood County.
Throughout his adult life, Billmaier’s passion has been working with wood. He has studied and reproduced
period furniture including Shaker designs. He has created working models of heavy equipment with fully
moveable parts. In 2009 Billmaier began producing segmented turned wood vessels.
Following the lecture at about 2 p.m. PRIZM board members will host the group’s annual membership
meeting.
