Eastwood ranked in first state football poll
COLUMBUS – Eastwood is ranked 15th in the first Division IV state-wide football poll. The Eagles have 29
points.

BG’s Penrod earns MAC honor
CLEVELAND – Bowling Green’s Paige Penrod was the Mid-American Conference East offensive volleyball player
of the week.
Penrod was named MVP of the Best Western Falcon Plaza Invitational as the Falcons went 3-0.
She had 19 kills, seven digs and two blocks in the four-set win over previously undefeated Michigan
State.
NB to honor the military
NORTH
BALTIMORE – On Friday, the North Baltimore and Mohawk football teams
will be supporting the 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team. The football
teams will be wearing the unit’s patch on their helmets.

any active military member can receive free admission to the game if
they are wearing their uniform, by presenting their military ID at the
gate,

Owens volleyball wins 10th straight
Owens
Community College’s volleyball team beat Sinclair Community College on
Saturday, 25-13, 25-14, 25-11. It was the 10th straight win for the No. 7
ranked Express, 15-1 on the season.
Owens’
leaders were: Ellie Comes, 15 digs; Emily Crowell, 10 kills, four
blocks; Brittany Egbert, eight kills; Erin Schatzle, 21 assists, three
aces; Milly Hilfinger, nine assists, two aces; and Julia Haupricht, four
aces.
Learn to Skate lessons planned
The Ice Arena is planning two Learn to Skate sessions.
Fall I session runs Saturday to Oct. 24. Fall II session is Oct. 29 – Dec. 11.
Each session is six weeks long
with one 30 minute lesson per week for $66.
Classes
are offered Saturday mornings, Sunday afternoons and Monday evenings.
Specific class times and levels depend on age and current skill level.
Classes
are available for ages 3 through adult and skill levels beginner
through advanced.
New rental skates are included in the registration
fee.

BG Parks and Rec adult men’s basketball
Bowling
Green Parks And Recreation is opening registration for the fall adult
men’s basketball league. League play will take place on Monday nights at
6:30 and 7:30 beginning Oct. 3 at the BG Community Center.
The league will include a five-game minimum and season-ending tournament. Level of play is recreational
and competitive.
Team
fees are $120 for the season and an additional $20 per game for
officials. Participants who are non-residents of BG will pay a $35
annual fee before the season begins.
The first 12 teams to pay in full will be entered in the league.
Registrations deadline is Sept. 26. Register at the BG Community Center. Deadline by Sept. 25.
