I see that Belleville ditch is being cleaned again. Wouldn’t it be nice if the city and county cleaned
the ditch along West Poe Road?
Last time the ditch was cleaned was on Friday, Oct. 23, 1992.
Year ago, the city put drainage pipe from the field across Poe Road to drain that field, which was
private property. But now, we have Lake Lafayette in that corner of the field where water lays.
Currently, the dirt in the ditch is 6 inches higher than the plastic drain pipe.
If you want water to get to the main ditch (Bellevue ditch) shouldn’t you clean the ditch which feeds it.

If the equipment is right here to clean Belleville, would it make sense to clean the bottom of the West
Poe ditch.
