Beaver Creek Boosters
The Beaver Creek Boosters 4-H Club met Sunday at adviser Ashley Vetter’s house
The group worked on their float. They also enjoyed swimming in the pond after working hard on the fair
preparations.
Future projects for the club include to finish the float and talk about booth set up.
The next meeting will be July 24 from 7 to 9 p.m., also at Ashley Vetter’s house.
Blue Ribbon Rangers
The Blue Ribbon Rangers met Monday at the Webster Township Hall.
The group discussed the next judging events, Miscellaneous judging was Thursday, Clothing and Nutrition
judging is Tuesday with the Style Review on July 25.
The members also discussed many other important dates. The safety officer, Rebbecca Foos gave a report on
fire safety and then demonstrated how to correctly use a fire extinguisher.
Next the club broke off into committees. The club then split into adviser groups and during this time
some members gave their presentations, including Erica Lang on a sand dune trip; Quinn Booth on
chickens; Chad Connor on presenting goats; Adam Wolf on tomato watering system; Alex Bookenberger on ATV
safety; Hunter Killy on electric guitar and many more.
The club finished the meeting with taking pictures for the booth, recreation and snack and drink.
The club plans to hold a Showmanship Clinic on July 22. The next meeting will be July 26.
Jackson Livestock
Jackson Livestock held their monthly meeting on Sunday. Reporter Lindsay Davis took roll call by asking
members to share an interesting fact about themselves.
While the members worked on items for their booth, advisers looked over project books. Members were
reminded of upcoming judging dates.
Plans for the fair were discussed including booth set-up and the club cookout. Livestock exhibitors were
reminded to make a thank you sign to hang in their barn and were given DUNF forms. Wristbands were
handed out to the members present. The next club function will be booth set-up at the fair on July 30.

Dowling Stitch, Stir & Stock
The Dowling Stitch, Stir, & Stock 4-H club met on Wednesday at RE Davis Company’s shop.
The members worked hard on painting the very first 4-H Quilt Square for Wood County’s upcoming Quilt
Trail. (More on this event wil be featured in a future edition.) The members are very excited about
being part of the foundation for a new project coming to life in the Wood County 4-H organization.
The club is still collecting items for Nature’s Nursery and the church. The members are now collecting
all kinds of athletic shoes, though not including cleats, for Nike. The national sporting goods and
athletic footwear company takes the old shoes and recycles their rubber into tar which is used for
playgrounds and other various products.
The next meeting will be the annual "Parent’s Night" at the Luckey Legion on July 20 at 6 p.m.

Country Guys and Gals
Members of the Country Guys and Gals 4-H Club met at the Portage Township Hall on July 27.
Demonstrations were given by Cassandra Shaffer on "Zoning Rules," Brittany Gross on "The 5
Most Endangered Animals," Kevin Bradford on "The Air Soft Gun," Kristen Curtis on
"How to Make Whipped Jello," Jenna Irwin on "How to Make Multi-Colored Crayons,"
Alexus and Paige Dauterman on "How To Make A Pillow," Isaac Shaffer on "Forensic
Entomology," Tory Hillard and Courtney Thomson on "Things You Can Do With Plastic
Spoons," and Emelia Shaffer on "How to Make Puppy Chow."
The next meeting will be July 31 at the Fairgrounds to set up the booth.
