Dowling Stitch, Stir & Stock
The Dowling, Stitch, Stir & Stock 4-H Club met on Wednesday at the Lucky Legion.
The club is still collecting items for Nature’s Nursery. The members decided to collect items for a
church to thank the congregation for letting them use the wonderful facility from time to time, when the
Lucky Legion was not available for their meetings. The club is also collecting old athletic shoes to
donate to recycling.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Legion.
Four-Leaf Clovers Leaders
The Four-Leaf Clovers Leaders met July 3 and made some posters for their group project on the club
picnic. Members will be judged at next meeting as a group and present the project to the aAdvisers. This
project has helped members in the past to become leaders.
The club members sign up for community service projects to work at St Paul’s Ice Cream Social.
The members help the younger members what to bring to judging and what to expect at judging. Leaders
broke up into groups to come up with a 4-H float and booth idea. Next meeting the members will help make
name tags and plan the 4-H booth exhibits for the fair.
The next meeting will be held July 17 at 5:30 p.m. at St Paul’s Church.
Tontogany Four-Leaf Clovers
The Tontogany Four-Leaf Clovers met June 26. Members went over 4-H project books requirements and dates
and times.
Members broke into groups and came up with some float and 4-H booth ideas. Members signed up to work on
float after miscellaneous judging on July 16. They also signed up for milk shake bar times.
Clover Buds were adjourned to their meeting. They made candles with salt. They colored the salt with food
color and layered the different colors into a glass vase. They added the wick and candle wax on top.
This project the members are taking to judging and displaying them in the 4-H booth.
Members also signed up to work at St Paul’s Ice Cream social for a community service project. They will
clean tables and bring bake goods. The proceeds will go to a church member to help pay for their medical
expenses.
Casey Swanson gave a demonstration on how to show and take care of your rabbits and Kelly Damschorder
gave a demonstration on how to show and take care of a chicken.
The next meeting is July 17 at 6:30 p.m.
