Chamber director is Kiwanis guest
Earlene Kilpatrick, executive director of the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce, will be the guest
speaker at Thursday’s Bowling Green Kiwanis meeting at noon at Stone Ridge Golf Club.
Kilpatrick will speak about the Leadership BG program that is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. Since
Leadership BG’s inception in 1992, 397 people have completed the program.
Kilpatrick is completing her third year as the head of the chamber. A Bowling Green resident since 1979,
she previously served as the executive director of Downtown Business Association.
Salvation Army starts ‘Tools for Schools’ drive
The Salvation Army has started its annual "Tools for School" campaign.
The collection runs through Aug. 6 with boxes located at Kroger, Walgreen, Ben Franklin, Big Lots and St.
Mark’s Lutheran Church.
Sign-up for the backpacks is July 25 to Aug. 5 at the Salvation Army office, 1045 N. Main St. in Bowling
Green.
Backpacks will be distributed Aug. 17.

South Side 6 is this week’s lunch provider
The City of Bowling Green Parks and Recreation, along with title sponsor First Federal Bank, will be
hosting Lunch in the Park on Friday. Food from South Side Six will be available for purchase from 11:30
a.m. to 1 p.m. at City Park’s Martin and Kiwanis shelters.
There will be a performance by Tapestry throughout the lunch.
BG Rotary to meet Thursday
Dr. David E. Albert will discuss "Medical Devices, Past, Present & Future" at
Thursday’s meeting of the Bowling Green Rotary Club.
The club will meet at 11:45 a.m. at the Bowling Green Country Club.
