The Bowling Green Warcats Lacrosse program has lofty goals despite this being its inaugural season. First
on the agenda is promoting the sport in the Bowling Green area where it has yet to really take off.
"We’re trying to teach the game and promote the sport but people always have a little hesitation
about something different," said one of the club’s founders Jim Gavarone. "Many people in the
area are keeping a watchful eye on us for the future."
Currently the first year program has two teams, one at the fifth and sixth grade level and another at the
seventh and eighth grade level. Both teams have about 25 kids on them, a number that Gavarone feels will
grow in the coming years.
