Junior board actively organizing activities

During the joint portion of the Junior and Senior Wood County Fair Boards on Thursday members of the
junior and senior livestock committees broke into smaller groups. The livestock committees reviewed the
material that is to be printed in the Wood County Fair Books, and members discussed procedures for
upcoming weigh-ins and the fair as well.
After the combined livestock committees had met, the Junior Fair Board conducted a meeting of its own.

Members continued their discussion of fundraisers from the last meeting; the board will be conducting a
"Blue Ribbon Donor" program, in which Wood County Junior Fair sponsors will receive
recognition by having their names posted on signs inside of barns at the fair. Also, the Junior Fair
Board will be partnering with a local McDonald’s within the coming months to garner funds.
Aside from discussing fundraisers, members finalized a design for their annual T-shirt and discussed
upcoming junior fair activities, such as the Fair Royalty Contest and the 4-H Honor Court Program.
The board plans to meet again on May 18. Prior to this meeting, the Wood County Quality Assurance program
for market animal exhibitors will be held in the Junior Fair Building at 6:30 p.m.
Also, the sheep and goat identification and weigh-in day was set for this morning at the fairgrounds.
