FREMONT – More than 50 members of the ElderCollege at Terra Community College recently visited the
nation’s capital, Washington, D.C.
While in Washington, they toured the many memorials, stood on the Capital steps and had a guided tour of
the area as well as the Smithsonian museums and Arlington National Cemetery.
Travel plans continue into the fall with a six-day, seven-night trip to the Boston area which will
include trips to the Kennedy Library and Museum, a tour of the Freedom Trail and the Salem area where
the Salem Witchcraft Trials were held.
ElderCollege is a membership organization open to the public at Terra for adults age 50 and beyond who
share a common desire to learn. No previous college experience is necessary; just a desire to learn.
The course schedule varies from term to term but typically includes such topics as computers, history,
art and music. There are also several educational outing opportunities during each term.
