Cantata is Sunday
The adult choir and soloists from St. Marks Lutheran Church, along with a chamber orchestra from Bowling
Green State University will present "Once Upon a Tree," a work by Pepper Choplin for choir and
narrator.
It will be presented on Sunday at 11 a.m. at the church, 315 S. College.
The entire work is presented from the perspective of St. Luke.
"This is a story of life that leads us through the range of human experience; through the
celebration of the triumphal entry; the struggle of Gethsemane, the tenderness of a mother’s grief, and
the anger in the face of injustice," said Choplin. "The story takes us to the depth of human
suffering and lifts us to the ultimate victory over death."
