Freda Anne Carrier, 65, of North Baltimore, died Sunday, April 17, 2011, at Blanchard Valley Hospital,
Findlay.
She was born on August 16, 1945, to the late Eckle and Ruby (Collins) Gibson. She married Dewey Carrier
on July 6, 1965, and he survives.
Also surviving are a son, Jefferey (Patricia) Carrier of Findlay; a daughter, Tammy (Mark) Deerwester of
North Baltimore; brothers: Hubert Gibson of Stone Creek, VA, Douglas (Loretta) Gibson of Roanoke, VA and
Clarence (Sue) Gibson of Dallas, TX; sisters: Dorothy Cox of Atlanta, IN, Brenda Goins of Woodway, VA,
Harriet James of Pennington Gap, VA and Wilma (Bill) Goins of Dryden, VA; a sister-in-law, Ovella Gibson
of Delaware, OH; a brother-in-law, Garrett Lambert of Jonesville, VA; grandchildren: Cassie, Miranda and
Mark Jordan Deerwester; step-grandchildren: Jason (Melissa) Velasquez, Lisa Kochan and Jaime Velasquez;
three step-great-grandchildren: Dakota, Arizona, and Montana; and her precious dog, Dee Dee.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Bobby Joe Carrier; brothers: Henry and Herchel Gibson; and
a sister, Minnie Lambert.
Freda was a homemaker.
Her grandchildren were the light of her life. As she endured many hardships throughout her life none was
more enduring and hard on her than the sudden loss of her son.
She loved and appreciated the staff and many friends she made at the Blanchard Valley Dialysis Services.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, with
Reverends William Best, James Tracy, and brother, Doug Gibson officiating. Burial will be next to her
son in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore. Visitation will be held Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m., and
Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
Memorial contributions may be made to Victory Chapel Fellowship, Cygnet ,and/or a charity of the donor’s
choice, in her memory.
