Country Guys and Gals
The Country Guys and Gals 4-H meeting was held on March 27 at Portage Township Hall.
Members decided to bring in canned food items at the upcoming meeting. The canned food will be donated to
a local food pantry.
Mackenzie Shaffer gave a demonstration on "oobleck." The meeting ended with recreation and
snacks.
The next meeting was to be held Sunday.
Leaders of Tomorrow
The Leaders of Tomorrow 4-H group met Saturday for a meeting, bake sale, and recycling. There was a good
turnout for the bake sale and recycling.
In the meeting the club elected new officers. The president is Shannon Strow, with Samara Okuly as vice
president; Ben Wilhelm, treasurer and the secretary is Taylor DeSmith. The news reporter is Madalyn
Fletcher; health and safety officer is Lauren Strow and recreation officer is Logan Reynolds.
The club will make cancer care packages for those who need them, as done last year. Members also decided
to have a booth and be in fair parade.
4-Leaf Clover Kids
The 4-Leaf Clover Kids met Sunday at the Portage Hall.
At the meeting members went over the float and booth ideas suggested, which will be continued until next
meeting, when they will vote on what the float and booth will look like. The advisers went over the Walk
Across Wood County and encouraged members to write down any exercise they have done and will do in the
future. The members were also asked to bring non-perishable food items for a service project.
The safety report was on bus safety. There also was inauguration for officers. The club will hold a bake
sale in front of Belleville’s Meat Market in Bowling Green on May 28. The project as a group made flower
and leaf presses.
