Fire school set at BGSU
The Northwestern Ohio Volunteer Firemen’s Association annual fire school will be held Saturday and Sunday
at Bowling Green State University.
A year ago more than 1,200 first responders and emergency personnel from all over Northwestern Ohio
participated. Classes cover medical to agricultural emergencies, military and commercial aircraft
response, homeland security issues and different firefighting experiences.
Mermill Road closed 2 days
Mermill Road between Solether and Lemmerbrock roads just east of the Interstate 75 overpass will be
closed from Thursday morning through Friday afternoon for bridge repair.
Reed Street work begins
East Reed Street between Main and Prospect streets will be closed through Thursday during daylight hours.
Work is being done by Columbia Gas contractors to upgrade and improve service delivery.
Friday fish fry at Pemberville
PEMBERVILLE – Pemberville American Legion will hold a fish fry Friday from 4:30 to 7 p.m.
The all-you-can-eat meal is $12 for adults, $7 for children 6-12 and free for five and under.
Soft drinks are included with meal and homemade pie will be available for purchased.
Books sale at Perrysburg
PERRYSBURG – The Perrysburg Area Arts Council will host a book fair at the 577 Foundation, 577 E. Front
St., Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In additional to the sale of gently used books, activities will include:
¥ Joyce Davis, puppeteer and storyteller – 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
¥ Tim and Jennifer Lake, Story Time – 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
¥ Michelle Kepford, face painter – 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
¥ The Perrysburg Honor Society will offer art activities both days.
