A Whitehouse man was killed in an accident early this morning in Waterville Township.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash that occurred at approximately 2:26 a.m., on
Ohio 64 near Noward Road.
Killed was Benjamin Costilla, 24, who was driving a 2003 Jeep westbound on Route 64. His vehicle collided
near the center line with an eastbound 2003 Honda driven by Matthew Reibe, 24, Sylvania.
Costilla died at the scene. Reibe was transported to the University of Toledo Medical Center with serious
but non-life threatening injuries.
Neither driver is believed to have been wearing seatbelts and alcohol may have been a contributing
factor, according to the highway patrol.
Assisting the patrol at the scene were the Waterville police and fire departments, Whitehouse police and
Lucas County coroner and sheriff’s office.
