Grand jury indicts Gibsonburg man for assaulting officer, biting EMT

A Gibsonburg man was indicted for assault on a peace officer and assault on an EMT.
Travis Perkins, age 19, of rural Gibsonburg, was among 17 individuals indicted on March 2 by a Wood
County Grand Jury.
According to court documents, on Feb. 6 Perkins struck a Lake Township patrolman, Nick Hannan, in the
temple with his right elbow. He also was charged for biting Wayne Glass, an emergency medical service
technician on the arm while he was administering treatment; both are fourth-degree felonies.
His case has been assigned to Wood County Common Pleas Court Judge Robert Pollex with arraignment set for
March 15.
Seven others were indicted with a variety of drug-related offenses, with five people facing charges of
failure to verify or change their address.
Those facing drug-related charges include Alex Jones, 33, and Micky Smith, 51, both of Bowling Green. The
co-defendants are each charged with one count of complicity to trafficking in cocaine; with Jones facing
two counts and Smith one count of complicity to trafficking in marijuana. Each count includes a
specification for being committed in the vicinity of a juvenile or school.
Their cases have also been assigned to Pollex.
Brenda Guyton, 36, and Tomas Delagarza, 19, both of Walbridge are co-defendants, each facing three counts
of complicity to trafficking in marijuana, each with a specification for being committed in the vicinity
of a juvenile or school.
Their cases have also been assigned to Pollex.
Leonard Todd Siler, 26, Perrysburg, was indicted on two counts of aggravated possession of drugs.
His case has been assigned to Judge Alan Mayberry. Thomas Dean, Bowling Green, 31, is facing one count of
aggravated possession of drugs. He is slated to appear before Judge Reeve Kelsey.
Ryan Parks, 28, of Toledo, possession of drugs. He is also set to appear before Pollex.
Justin Gonzales, 29, Weston; Derek Bell, 23, Weston; Christopher Huff, 49, Fostoria and Dawn Smith, 47,
North Baltimore; were each indicted for failure to change address, and Nathaniel Weatherall, 20,
Perrysburg, was indicted for failure to verify address. Bell and Smith are assigned to Mayberry’s
courtroom; while the others are all to appear before Kelsey.
Others indicted:
¥ Thomas Plummer, 32, listed in Warren Correctional Institution, was indicted for receiving stolen
property and burglary, in regard to incidents in June 2010. The stolen property was a 2007 Chevy
Avalanche, while the burglary was at a residence. (Kelsey)
¥ Mario Johnson, 22, Flint, Mich., passing bad checks (Pollex)
¥ A 68-year-old Northwood man was indicted for domestic violence with three specifications and disrupting

In addition to the indictments two bills of information were handed down.
¥ Maurice Buchanan, 26, of Toledo, is facing one count of improper handling of a firearm in a motor
vehicle, and one count of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drug of
abuse.
¥ Steven Strickland, 47, Bowling Green, for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of
alcohol and/or a drug of abuse. The charge also includes a specification regarding five or more previous
convictions for similar offenses within the previous 20 years.
