Falcon men try to regain winning ways (02-18-11)

Bowling Green has done it before this season.
And junior Scott Thomas believes the Falcons can do it again.
Bowling Green started the season 1-8, fought back to .500 and is now 12-14 overall and tied for third at
7-5 in the Mid-American Conference East.
The Falcons have lost three of their last four games, heading into Saturday’s BracketBuster contest at
Youngstown State. Tipoff is at 7:05 p.m. The game is the first of a three-game road trip for Bowling
Green.
"The season is not over yet," Thomas said Tuesday after Akron pounded the Falcons, 89-54.
"We have four games in the East and we have to be ready to play."
The BG players held a team meeting, without coaches present, after Tuesday’s loss.
"We’ve been here before," Thomas said. "We’re still a young team and we’re growing up …
You win a couple of games and get a little confidence.
"Sometimes you starting coasting a little bit, but we can’t do that," Thomas continued.
"We’re got to get back to the basics. We have to bring it in practice everyday. If we have to go
three hours to get better, that’s what we’ve got to do."
Even at 7-5 in conference play, the Falcons’ goals are still obtainable.
"We’re still trying to win a MAC championship. We’ve still got the regular season and everything is
close. And we’re still trying to get to the NCAA tournament," Thomas said. "We’re going to
keep working and keep fighting for our position."
