Dorothy M. Brough, 93, of Bowling Green, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2011.
She was born April 24, 1917 to Harlow and Mable (Harris) Sheperd. She married P. Harrison Osborn in 1936
and he preceded in 1959. She married Lester Brough in 1967 and he died in 1978.
Three daughters were born from the first marriage: Marjorie Vanek of Pemberville, Laura Pockett of
Sunbury, Ohio and Linda Lane-Turner of Bowling Green. She also has 13 grandchildren, 15
great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Gladys Matheny of
Bowling Green, Ethel Barnhizer of Temperance, MI., Vera Moore and Janet Markin, both of Bowling Green.
She was also preceded in death by sisters, Bernice, Donna Marie, Thelma, brother, Clyde and a grandson,
Jeffrey Lane.
Dorothy was employed by the Macy Company for 22 years, retiring in 1981.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, as well as the former Bowling Green and Portage Rebekah
Lodges. She received the Decoration of Chivalry which is the highest award bestowed on a member for
service to her lodge, church and community.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the DUNN FUNERAL HOME.
Family and friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment is in
Oak Grove Cemetery.
