Prep Roundup – Perrysburg wrestlers 5th at Maumee Bay for 1-24-11

Perrysburg’s wrestlers were fifth at the Maumee Bay Classic over the weekend, the best finish by a county
school in the 28-team event.
The Yellow Jackets finished with 115.5 points. Clay was the winner with 217 points, and Wauseon was
second at 210.
Elmwood was eighth with 97 points, Northwood was 23rd with 41 points, Bowling Green was 24th with 31
points, and Otsego was 27th with 21 points.
Elmwood’s Nick Goebel (119 pounds) and Perrysburg’s Micah Carter (215) each took home individual titles.

Other top finishers from the county were: Perrysburg — Luke Boff, 171, second; J.P. Newton, 140, third;
Ryan Roth, 130, fourth; and Kadin Llewellyn, 152, fifth; Elmwood — Dexter Lee, 125, fourth; Mitchell
Emmitt, 135, fifth; Dusty Ferguson, 112, fifth; and Jake Baker, 215, seventh; Northwood — Tyler Mack,
140, fifth; Daniel Prothero, 160, sixth; and Nick Lang, 112, seventh; Bowling Green — Ben Bembry, 189,
eighth; and Otsego — Todd Box, 145, fourth.
WRESTLING
Lakota, NB compete at Van Buren
At the Van Buren Invitational, Lakota was 14th and North Baltimore was 19th in the 22-team event.
The Raiders finished with 71 points, while NB finished with 40.
Allen East won the team title with 181 points.
NB’s Dalton Ishmael was the individual champion at 189 pounds.
Top finishers for Lakota were: Ben Timmons, 119, second; Stephen Klotz, 215, second; Jarrett Smith, 285,
fourth.
SWIMMING
BOYS
Findlay defeated Bowling Green, 126-53 in a dual meet.
Peter Burroughs led the Bobcats, winning the 200 (1:51.81) and 500 (4:51.78) freestyles.
The Bobcats also added sevens second-place finishes.

GIRLS
Findlay defeated Bowling Green, 122-61 in a dual meet.
Bailey Burk, 200 freestyle (2:07.71) and Marisa Martin, 100 breast stroke (1:15.19) were BG’s winners.
