Megan Roe became the bride of Joel Metzger on Dec. 18 at Christ’s Church in Bowling Green.
Pastor Kim Huffman of Goshen Christian Church and Pastor Kevin Crawford co-officiated the 3:30 p.m.
ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of David and Janeen Roe, Van Tassel Road, Weston. The groom is the son of
Teresa and Bill Venis, Bowling Green, and Ed and Sandra Metzger, also of Bowling Green.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white pick-style ballgown with a sweep train, beaded
lace bodice, and V-neckline halter. Her headpiece, a double row pearl and rhinestone headband, held an
elbow-length veil.
Maids of honor were the bride’s sister, Mallory Roe of Alexandria, Ky., wearing a strapless ruched satin
gown in clover green; and Megan McKinley, Cincinnati, wearing a one-shoulder chiffon dress with floral
detail.
Kahni Walker, Bowling Green, in an apple red satin empire gown with chiffon halter; Kyrsti Wise,
Greentown, Ind., wearing a spaghetti strap dress of apple red chiffon with beaded empire waist; and
sister of the bride Holly Roe, Weston, wearing an apple red satin dress with pleated bust-line, were
bridesmaids.
Flower girls were Shiri Walker and Aniyah Walker of Bowling Green. They wore white satin ball gowns with
clover green sashes.
Ring bearer was Wesley Davis, Perrysburg.
Jeremy Metzger, Bowling Green, served as best man for his brother.
Groomsmen were Daniel Stoots, Jesse Kaufman, Craig Flack and brother of the groom Jacob Metzger, all of
Bowling Green.
Music for the ceremony was provided by vocalists Nathan Manuel and Annalesa Rahrig and guitarist Nathan
Manuel.
A reception was held at Lybarger-Grimm American Legion Hall, Tontogany.
The couple honeymooned in Cancun, Mexico, and are now at home at 300 Napoleon Road, Apt. A-6, Bowling
Green.
The bride, a 2005 graduate of Bowling Green High School, attended Johnson’s Bible College, Owens
Community College and Bowling Green State University. She spent one and a half years in the mission
field in South Africa and is currently employed by Wood County Job and Family Services as an income
maintenance case worker.
The groom is a 2004 graduate of BGHS and a 2010 graduate of BGSU with a degree in math education. He is
currently employed in construction for a local contractor, and at the Marathon Station.
