Two women arrested for assault over weekend

Two people were arrested following assault incidents over the weekend, one in Bairdstown and the other in
Risingsun.
According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, at 3:01 a.m. Saturday a deputy responded to the report of
a stabbing at a residence in the 100 block of North Rudolph Street, Bairdstown.
A witness at the scene reported that Amanda Bear, 31, of that residence, had earlier been at a bar in
North Baltimore and was upset about her boyfriend’s behavior. Upon returning home, she locked herself in
a bedroom. The male resident reportedly used a knife to open the door so that he could get to his room.
According to the sheriff’s office, Bear took the knife and a struggle ensued during which the man was
cut on the palm of one hand.
Bloomdale EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to Wood County Hospital.
Bear was arrested and taken to the Wood County Justice Center, where she was charged with assault. The
deputy reported that both Bear and the victim appeared intoxicated.
At 5:52 p.m. Sunday, a deputy responded to a business in the 100 block of Main Street, Risingsun, on the
report that a 16-year-old female had been struck in the head by an 18-year-old female. The victim stated
that the incident had occurred at a residence in the 2000 block of Bays Road. She stated that she was
watching a football game with a male at the residence when the older female, identified as Andrea
Wright, Findlay, entered the house, attempted to strike the man and then attacked the victim. The man
then removed Wright from the residence.
The victim was transported to Fostoria Hospital by her father.
Wright was located and taken to jail, where she was charged wth one count of assault.
