PERS group meets Thursday
The monthly PERS meeting will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Senior Citizen Center in Bowling Green.
The speaker will be Barbara Ruland, with Downtown BG.
CJFD board meets Wed.
PORTAGE – The Central Joint Fire District Board will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
at the fire station, 13179 Mermill Road.
King tribute Friday in BG
On Friday at 1:30 p.m., a tribute to Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will be held at the Wood County
District Public Library, 251 N. Main St.
This free event, sponsored by the City of Bowling Green Human Relations Commission, will feature keynote
speaker Rev. John C. Jones from the Urban League of Toledo. Musical selections will be performed by
Shades of Brown.
Also at the event, the Human Relations Commission will present the annual Drum Major for Peace Award,
named in honor of Dr. King.
The event is open to the public.
Pemberville ‘Friends’ meet Thursday
PEMBERVILLE – The Friends of the Pemberville Public Library will hold its annual meeting Thursday at 8:30
a.m. at the library.
Brad Gilbert, director of the Wood County Emergency Management Agency, will be the speaker.
The event is open to everyone.
On Sunday, the group will hold its "Quarter Frenzy" at the library with doors opening at 5 p.m.
and an auction at 6 p.m.
Admission is $5 at the door.
