TONTOGANY – The Wood County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal snowmobile crash that occurred
Friday at approximately 11 p.m. near Hannah Road outside of the village of Tontogany.
A snowmobile, operated by Barry M. Barnes, 46, Tontogany, was reportedly traveling south on private
property crossing Hannah Road and struck an embankment.
Barnes was thrown from the snowmobile and transported to Wood County Hospital, but he did not survive his
injuries.
Barnes was reportedly not wearing a helmet.
