Pemberville plans ‘Winter Carnival’

PEMBERVILLE – Pemberville is gearing up to host its first Winter Carnival on Saturday from 10 a.m. until
3 p.m.
Winter festivities are planned for all ages.
Ice carving by Ice Creations will be featured near the Pemberville Public Library with actual carving to
begin around 11 a.m. The finished sculpture should be ready for display at noon or shortly thereafter.

Inside the library, a hot cocoa bar will be set-up for all to enjoy.
Pemberville’s Opera House will be the setting for two youth puppet show performances. The first show will
begin at 11:30 a.m. with the second show beginning at 1 p.m. Bethlehem’s Puppet Troupe will perform both
shows.
Down the street, the Pemberville-Freedom Area Historical Society will be offering a soup and sandwich
lunch & dinner at the American Legion Hall. The menu will feature a "Taste of
Pemberville" including homemade snipple bean and chicken noodle soups, hot chicken and sloppy joe
sandwiches, cabbage rolls, salads and desserts. Pemberville’s Hirzel/Dei Fratelli tomato products will
be one of the key ingredients.
The opera house will host a Buster Keaton silent movie beginning at 7:30 p.m., with tickets costing $12.

The Country Mercantile will be the starting point for the "Snowman Scavenger Hunt" from 10 a.m.
to 2 p.m. Participants will gather all the "necessary accessories" to embellish their snowmen
with. Entrants will then submit their entries for judging and prizes.
Pemberville’s Medicine Shoppe will be hosting storytelling with the "Snow Princess." Beeker’s
General Store will host author Donna Scott-Nusrala for a book signing. A children’s author/educator, her
newest title is Gaziilions, Bunches, Ooodles and Tons. Participants will also be invited to make a
"Make it-Take Vintage Snowflake Ornament" as well.
Riverbank Antique Market will be hosting its annual "Winter White Sale." The market will also
offer complimentary marshmallows and sticks for roasting on the open fire. Poppin George’s Kettle Corn
will be featured for sale in the downtown area as well. Additional information may be obtained by
