Velma M. (Staub) Kronberg, 95, of Milton Center, Ohio, passed away January 1, 2011 at Wood County
Hospital in Bowling Green, Ohio.
She was born April 22, 1915 in Damascus Township to the late Herman H. and Inez (Cleveland) Staub. Velma
graduated from McClure High School and attended Stautzenberger Business College. On October 13, 1937,
she married Clarence W. Kronberg in Weston, Ohio, who preceded her in death on July 23, 1998.
Velma was a homemaker and a clerk for Milton Center Village Council for many years. She was a cook for
Bowling Green State University from 1963 to 1978 and aircraft spotter in the Custar area for a number of
years.
She was a very active member of the former Milton Center Presbyterian Church where she organized dinners,
blood drives, various projects and activities within the church and community. She was also a member of
the local Mental Progress Club and the Farm Bureau.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting and cross-stitching, but spending time with her family
was her greatest passion.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty (Robert) Kidd of Bowling Green, Ohio, sons, James (Eunice) Kronberg
and Terry (Mary) Kronberg of Whitehouse, Ohio, grandchildren, Jennifer Kronberg, Kathleen (Eric)
Heckert, Amy (Neal) Fifer, Lisa (Jerry) Stirn, Barbara (Mike) Jager, William (Penny) Kidd, Drew
(Michelle) Kronberg, Erin Kronberg and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Stab.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Plain Congregational
Church, 16011 W. Poe Road, Bowling Green, Ohio, with Pastor Scott Estep officiating. Following a lunch
and fellowship, interment will be held at Milton Township Cemetery in Custar, Ohio at 2:30 p.m.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday at Rodenberger Funeral Home in McClure from 2 to 8 p.m. and one hour
prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
The family suggests memorials to the Grand Rapids Care Center, Wood County Hospital Foundation, or to a
charity of the donor’s choice.
