Lois Murphy, 84, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away December 31, 2010.
Lois was born to the late Stanley and Pauline (Blue) Gelvin in Hartstown, Pennsylvania. She married Carl
Murphy January 19, 1975 and he survives.
Also surviving are five children: Bonnie (Gary) Smith, Columbus, Ohio; Ellen Ripp, Salem, Ohio; Marie
Kazalia, California, June Kazalia, Athens, Greece; John Kazalia, of Columbus, Ohio and two stepchildren:
Cathy and Dan Murphy, both of Bowling Green, Ohio. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren; three sisters: Esther Brooks, Pennsylvania; Norma Brown, Florida; and Mary Jordan
of Arizona.
Four brothers preceded her in death: Thomas, Ronald, Edwin and Earl.
Lois was a Retail Manager for the former Montgomery Ward Catalog store and she was a sales associate for
the former JC Penney store in downtown Bowling Green. She also helped stock shelves at the Elder Beerman
store in Bowling Green.
She was a member of the Weston Church of Christ. She was an avid walker and volleyball player, loved to
travel, and loved to fish alongside her husband, Carl, in Lake Erie and Canada.
Private Family Memorial Service will be Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in the DECK-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME and
