Harold G. Evans, age 86, of Luckey, OH, passed away on Saturday evening, January 1, 2011 at
Otterbein-Portage Valley Retirement Village, Pemberville, OH.
He was born on February 22, 1924 in Luckey, OH to Robert and Nora (Ford) Evans. He married Mary Wilhelm
on August 10, 1946 in Fremont, OH and she survives.
Harold worked as a Carman for the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad in the Walbridge yards from 1945
until his retirement in 1982.
He was a PVT 1st Class in the U.S. Army during WWII and received a Purple Heart during his time of
service to his country.
Harold was a member of Troy-Webster American Legion Post # 240, Luckey, OH and in his spare time enjoyed
watching sports.
Harold is survived by his wife: Mary of Luckey, OH, daughter: Mary Ann Evans of Woodbridge, VA, son: Jim
(Mary Ann) Evans of Wellington, OH, daughter Lois (Elmer) Toensing of Woodville, OH, daughter: Joan
Boyer of Luckey, OH, son: Don (Lesa) Evans of Bowling Green, OH, 14 grandchildren, 12
great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, sisters: Betty, Linda and Lola.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son: Glenn Evans and brothers: Bob and Lyle.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Marsh
Funeral Home, 110 Main Street, Luckey, OH, where funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday,
January 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Matthew March. Interment will be in Troy Township
Cemetery, Luckey, OH.
