Don Ziss

Don Louis (Duck) Ziss, 81, of Bowling Green, OH, passed away December 30, 2010, at the Hospice of
Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg.
He was born on January 22, 1929 to Alvin Theodore and Inez Ruth (Walker) Ziss in Bowling Green. He
married Marylou Pratt in February of 1956 and the marriage was dissolved in 1991. He married Linda
Nieswander on July 11, 1992 in Bowling Green.
He was a life member of the Haskins Community Church, a founding member of Riverby Hills Country Club, a
life member of The Elks Lodge 818 in Bowling Green and a Middleton Township Trustee for over 30 years.
He was a Centennial Farmer, living on the farm where he was born, all his life.
He is survived by his wife Linda, his son Don (Randall) Ziss of Denver, NC, and daughters, Linda Kay
(John) Kern, Helena, OH, Beth Ann Kohl of Punta Gorda, FL, and step-children Ray (Lisa) McElheney of
Bowling Green, Gregory N. McElheney of Corona, CA and Douglas B. McElheney of Monterey Park, CA. His
sister, Jean Louise (John) Ryder of Peoria, AZ, also survives him. He also has 10 grandchildren and 2
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Neva Elaine Porter, his son, Steven Phillip Ziss and
his grandson, Nathan Daniel Kern.
A celebration of his life will be held on his 82nd birthday, Saturday the 22nd of January, 2011 at his
farm from 1 p.m. through 6 p.m. The address is 13451 Middleton Pike in Bowling Green.
Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio and the Haskins Community Church.
