Bowling Green’s women’s basketball team could have a different look when it takes the floor tonight in
Anderson Arena.
BG, 2-2 overall, hosts UNC-Greensboro with at 7.
BG is coming off an 81-66 win over Oakland Tuesday, but in his post-game comments, BG head Curt Miller
had revelations on two of his players.
“I fear that it’s a serious injury, but we’ll say our prayers tonight and hope that she’s not done for
the season,” Miller said about senior Tara Breske, a team co-captain and the starting post player.
On Wednesday, Miller commented in his twitter account that Breske had a knee injury.
Breske played 22 minutes against Oakland and had 12 points and four rebounds. This season, she is
averaging 9.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and a team-high 1.0 blocks per game.
For her career, Breske, a two-time team co-captain, has appeared in 94 games, making 66 starts. She is
averaging 7.3 points and 4-6 rebounds per game.
Miller has several options to replace Breske, including junior Chelsea Albert or starting Jen Uhl and
Maggie Hennegan at the post positions.
Also, Lauren Prochaska, BG’s leading scorer and the Mid-American Conference player of the year last
season, has been slowed by illness in BG’s first four games. She played better against Oakland going 28
minutes while scoring 17 points and added six rebounds and five assists.
“It’s good to Lauren back going a little bit,” Miller said in his post-game comments. “We finally have a
diagnosis. We finally have figured out medically what’s going on with Lauren and now we can treat it …
It’s a relief to all of us to finally know medically what’s going on and now we can try to get here
strength back up.”
Prochaska is averaging 12.0 ppg this season and leads the Falcons in rebounding (6.8 rpg) and is second
in assists (4.0 apg) and blocked shots (0.8 bpg)
Tracy Pontius leads the Falcons in scoring, with 16.0 points per game. She also has 4.0 rebounds and a
team-high 4.5 assists per contest, and also leads the Falcons with 13 three-point field goals.
Tamika Nurse is also averaging in double figures at 120 ppg. Nurse is averaging 3.3 assists and 1.5
steals per game and is second on the team with eight 3-pointers.
Uhl has scored 9.5 points per game. She is shooting a team-best 63.6 percent from the field, and has gone
7-of-12 (58.3) on 3-pointers.
CLAPPERS: Tonight’s game will feature sisters on opposing benches in UNCG’s Amy Clapper and BG’s Sarah
Clapper. Angie is a redshirt freshman and Sarah is a senior co-captain.
The Clapper family took the Greensboro team into their home in Newark for Thanksgiving dinner.
SCOUTING GREENSBORO: The Spartans are coming off an 89-56 loss at No. 3 Ohio State on Wednesday. Ohio
State beat BG, 91-72, earlier this month. Greensboro is 1-3.
Against OSU, Amanda Leigh, 5-foot-10, redshirt junior, was 5-of-9 on 3-pointers and finished with 15
points. Ange Girstautaite, 6-4, redshirt junior, added 10 points and six rebounds against the Buckeyes.

Greensboro was 8-of-16 from beyond the arc, making five of its first seven 3-point attempts. However,
Greensboro was only 15-of-45 on 2-point shots.
Leigh leads the team in scoring at 11.3 ppg while Monique Floyd, 5-9, junior, is averaging 9.8 points ppg
and has a team-highs in assists (12) and rebounds (22).
The Spartans are a quick team and will probably use a variety of presses against the Falcons.
