GRAND RAPIDS — A robber, who stole a case of lottery tickets, can scratch winning the lottery from his
plans.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office reports that someone forced entry into the Friendship Marathon, 24010
Front St., sometime before 5:20 a.m. on Wednesday. Surveillance footage shows what appears to be a male
in dark clothes, wearing a jacket with the hood up, running up to the front of the business and throwing
a rock through the glass door before letting himself in.
The subject then grabbed the lottery ticket case from the counter and ran out of the business, heading
southeast.
According to the incident report, the tickets had been deactivated the previous night.
Break-ins also were reported Monday at two gas stations in Weston, about 10 miles southeast of Grand
Rapids.
