TUESDAY
Guest lecturer Johan Sundberg will discuss "The Voice as a Musical Instrument" at 11:30 a.m. in
Bryan Recital Hall in the Moore Musical Arts Center.
"Fully Awake: The Black Mountain College Experience" will be screened at 7:30 p.m. in Gish Film
Theater in Hanna Hall.
The Guitar Ensembles will perform at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall in the Moore Musical Arts Center.
WEDNESDAY
The Steel Drum Ensemble, directed by Bryan Stanbridge, will perform at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall.
THURSDAY
Writers in the Master of Fine Arts program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will read
from their work at 7:30 p.m. in Prout Chapel, as part of the MFA Exchange Project..
A 7:30 p.m. screening of the 2005 Argentinian film "Cautiva (The Captive)" wraps up the fall
International Film Series in Gish Film Theater.
The Vocal Jazz Ensemble will perform at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall.
FRIDAY & SUNDAY
"An Evening of Two Operas inspired by Cervantes’ Novel, ‘Don Quixote,’" will be staged Friday
at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. in Kobacker Hall. The program features Telemann’s "Don Quichotte auf
der Hochzeit des Comacho" and de Falla’s "El retablo de Maese Pedro," with Madcap Puppet

SATURDAY
The Falcon Marching Band, directed by Dr. Carol Hayward, will present a Young People’s Concert "FMB
Fever" at 11 a.m. in Bryan Recital Hall. Tickets, $2 for adults and $1 for children, will be
available at the door.
NOV. 9
Galina Tirnanic, an art historian at the Getty Research Institute, will discuss "The Art of
Punishment: The Spectacle of the Body on the Streets of Constantinople" at 6 p.m. in 1101 Fine Arts
Center.
AT THE GALLERIES
"Contemporary India," continues through Nov. 13 in the Willard Wankelman Gallery, and "The
Poetic Dialogue," continues through Nov. 19 in the Dorothy Uber Bryan Gallery. Gallery hours are 11
a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, 6-9 p.m. Thursdays and 1-4 p.m. Sundays.
An exhibit celebrating 40 years of the BGSU Black Student Union continues through Nov. 1 in the
Bowen-Thompson Student Union Gallery.
NOV. 10
Tuesdays at the Gish film series concludes with a screening of the 2004 documentary "The
Quorum," about a coffeeehouse that became a forum for multicultural exchange in New Orleans, at
7:30 p.m. in the Gish Film Theater.
Oboe students from the studio of Jacqueline Leclair will perform in Toledo’s Wildwood Metropark Manor
House at 7:30 p.m.
The Jazz Lab Band I, directed by Dave Bixler, will perform at 8 p.m.
