Amy Lynn Carpenter and Matthew Douglas Bowman exchanged wedding vows July 31 at Dayspring Assembly of
God, Bowling Green.
Pastor Scott Estep led the 5 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Thomas and Diana Carpenter, Bowling Green Road East, Bowling Green. The
groom is the son of Douglas and Barbara Bowman, Havelock, N.C.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a beaded white satin strapless gown with a sweetheart
neckline and ruching under the bustline. She wore a silver tiara headpiece.
Cassie Ernsthausen, Bowling Green, was the maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Stacey Loomis, Luckey; Britni Aring and Ann Cromley, both of Bowling Green; Ashley
Clemenic, Havelock; and sisters of the groom Mary Beth LaBlance, Havelock, and Kimberly Strickland,
Clayton, N.C.
They wore knee-length strapless black chiffon dresses.
Lacy Strickland, 4, and Reese Strickland, 2, both nieces of the groom, served as flower girls along with
8-month-old Maggie LaBlance, niece of the groom and goddaughter of the couple, whom they pulled down the
aisle in a wagon. Lacy wore a long turquoise chiffon dress with jeweled sash and a silver tiara. Reese
and Maggie wore white satin dresses with turquoise sashes.
The groom’s father served as his best man.
Ushers were Aaron Laird, Pemberville; Steve Clemenic, Drew Hanson and Matt Lee, all of Havelock; and Chad
Strickland, Clayton, N.C., brother-in-law of the groom.
Musicians for the ceremony were organist Bryce Jennings, vocalist Penny McIntosh, and trumpeter Chris
Albrecht.
A reception was held in the Commodore Ballroom of the Hilton Garden Inn, Perrysburg. Music was furnished
by harpist Dani Bash, pianist Jim Gottron, and A Class Act.
The newlyweds will make their home at 6001 South Tongass Ave., Ketchikan, Alaska 99901.
The bride graduated in 2002 from Eastwood High School, in 2006 from Bowling Green State University, and
is currently working on a master’s degree from East Carolina State University. She is employed as a
teacher of child psychology and early education for Ketchikan High School.
The groom graduated in 2005 from Havelock High School and in 2007 from Craven County Community College in
Havelock. He is currently serving a three-year tour of duty in Ketchikan as a petty officer 3rd class
with the U.S. Coast Guard.
