The game of the year in the Toledo Area Athletic Conference finally has arrived.
Northwood faces Toledo Christian in a battle of undefeated teams in TAAC play.
Kickoff at Perrysburg High School is 7:30 p.m.
The Rangers and the Eagles are 4-0 in the TAAC with two games remaining. The winner clinches at least a
tie for the TAAC championship.
Following is a preview of the games involving Wood County schools:
Southview (5-3, 4-1)
at BGHS (2-6, 2-3)
Bowling Green has another chance to be a spoiler in the Northern Lakes League race when it faces
co-leader Southview.
The Bobcats are coming off a 34-6 loss to Maumee, the NLL’s other co-leader.
Rossford (0-8, 0-5)
at Anthony Wayne (5-3, 3-2)
Rossford is trying to avoid its second straight 0-10 season after finishing 6-4 and making the state
playoffs in 2007.
Perrysburg (6-2, 3-2)
at Northview (3-5, 2-3)
Perrysburg attempts to keep pace with Maumee and Southview in the NLL.
The Yellow Jackets finish the regular season at Maumee, while Southview faces cross-town rival Northview
in its finale.
Perrysburg also tries to solidify its chances of earning a spot in the Division I state playoffs.
The Yellow Jackets hold the eighth and final playoff berth in their region. Perrysburg most likely will
have to beat Northview and Maumee and receive help from other teams to make the playoffs.
Patrick Henry (8-0)
at Eastwood (7-1)
With its chances of winning the Suburban Lakes League all but over, Eastwood needs to beat Patrick Henry
and Gibsonburg to keep its playoff hopes alive.
The Eagles are coming off a 48-0 win over Elmwood.
PH, the top-ranked team in Division IV, has out-scored its opponents by a 343-95 margin.
Lake (5-3, 3-2)
at Elmwood (3-5, 2-2)
Lake tries to rebound after back-to-back losses to Eastwood and Genoa.
The Flyers are enjoying a quality season after winning just three times the last two seasons. Their only
other loss was to Northwood in Week 2.
Elmwood has lost two straight.
Genoa (8-0, 0-4)
at Otsego (0-8, 0-4)
Otsego faces a winning team for the sixth time this season.
Genoa is ranked second in Division IV and has out-scored its opponents by a 496-24 margin.
Lakota (4-4, 1-4)
at Tiffin Calvert (4-4, 3-2)
Lakota tries for back-to-back wins after snapping a four-game losing streak last week.
Hopewell-Loudon (6-2, 3-2) at North Baltimore (2-6, 0-5)
NB hasn’t won since starting the season 2-0.
Northwood (5-3, 4-0)
vs. Toledo Christian (6-2, 4-0), at Perrysburg
The Rangers can clinch no worse a tie for the TAAC title for the third straight season and seventh time
in nine seasons.
Northwood also is seeking a spot in the Division V playoffs.
The Rangers hold the eighth and final spot in their region. But like Perrysburg and Eastwood, Northwood
must win its final two games and receive help.
Toledo Christian, aiming for a Division VI playoff berth, has won four straight.
