Prep Roundup: Lake girls soccer routs Stritch in sectional semifinal


Lake’s girls soccer team cruised past Cardinal Stritch, 12-0, in a Division II sectional semifinal at
Genoa High School Wednesday.
The Flyers, 15-1-1 overall, advance to face Woodmore in the sectional finals Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at
Shelby Antonacci and Kayla Encalado each scored two goals to lead 10 different scorers for Lake.
Hannah Cox, Emily Whitmore, Hillary West, Sarah LaPlante, Dani Hug, Ashley Timmons, Drew Plummer and
Shawna Parker also scored a goal for Lake.
Timmons added two assists, while Whitmore, Antonacci, Plummer, Parker, Jessica Abbey and Nichole Henry
each had one assist.
Stritch did not have a shot in the match.
Perrysburg 9,
Toledo Bowsher 0
At Southview High School, Samantha O’Connor scored two goals and Kelsey Draper had two assists as
Perrysburg blanked Bowsher to advance. The Yellow Jackets are 14-3 overall and have won 12 straight
Kirsten Goins, Mollie Whitacre, Meghan Long, Chloe Buehler, Kaylee Draper, Brittany Ganss and Allie
Chapman also scored goals for Perrysburg.
Geri Siudzinski, Emily Linthicum, Buehler, Kirsten Goins, Alyssa Goins and Kaylee Draper each added an
assist. Kelsey Draper made one save.
Perrysburg will face Springfield in the sectional finals Saturday at 4 p.m. at Southview.
Port Clinton 3, Lake 2
At Lake High School, Port Clinton edged the Flyers in the sectional semifinal match.
Nick Byrd and Bryant Philo scored for Lake.
The Flyers bow out after advancing to the regional finals last season.
Lima Bath 2, Otsego 0
At Defiance High School, the Wildcats shut out Otsego in the sectional semifinal match.
