To the Editor: How temporary will tax be?

0

The article on Sept. 23 states that cuts in services are not punitive if the November income tax fails.
However, what is to keep the city from cutting these services if if the increase does pass? We’ve seen
it time and time again, most recently in Toledo. The mayor needed the 3/4% income tax to keep fire and
police on duty. Once the tax had passed, the fire and police were still the first to be cut.
Don’t be duped by this. Vote no on the income tax increase. These services will still be the first to go
when the city needs to cut.
The article also identifies this as a temporary tax, but once in place, how temporary will it be?
