BG’s Roos gets contract extension
Jennifer Roos, Bowling Green State University women’s basketball associate head coach, has received a
two-year contract extension
Roos, BG head coach Curt Miller’s first hire in 2001, has helped build a perennial power in her eight
years on campus. The Falcons have an overall record of 179-73 in that time. After a 9-19 record in the
current staff’s first season (2001-02) and a 12-16 mark in the second, Miller, Roos and the Falcons are
158-38 overall (80.6 percent) and 83-13 (86.5 percent) in Mid-American Conference regular-season play
over the last six seasons.
Roos is in charge of the Falcon defense, and also serves as the team’s recruiting coordinator.
"Jennifer is one of the best assistant coaches in the country, and has been my co-pilot since we
arrived in 2001," said Miller. "Jennifer is involved in every single decision within our
program, and she is a huge reason why we have built a championship program."
BG men finish sixth
HEBRON, Ky. – Bowling Green’s men’s golf team finished sixth in the 17-team Bearcat Invitational. Miami
won the tournament with an 889. BG finished at 905
BG’s Drew Preston was fifth overall at 220.
Other BG scores were: Matt Schneider, tied for 20th, 229; Parker Hewitt, tied for 45th, 231; and John
Powers and Wes Gates, tied for 54th, 234. Powers is a Bowling Green High School graduate.
BG women finish 14th
FISHERS, Ind. – Bowling Green’s women golf team finished 14th in the 16-team Duramed MAC Preview at
Hawthorns Golf and Country Club
Ball State won the team title with a 933. BG finished at 992.
Susannah Gruden led the Falcons with a 233, good for a tied for 11th.
Other BG scores were: Paula DiFrancesco, tied for 67th, 248; Hannah Lambert, tied for 75th, 258; Marisa
Glew, 78th, 261; and Lauren Glew, 81st, 263.
Falcon volleyball loses
Bowling Green’s volleyball team fell to 7-14 overall Tuesday with a 25-23, 25-23, 25-21 non-conference
loss to Cleveland State in Anderson Arena. CSU is 19-5.
BG’s leaders were: Kaitlin Jackson, 13 kills; Allison Kearney, 41 assists; Ashley Herzberg, 10 digs; and
Shari Luther, five blocks.
Perrysburg, Eastwood in computer rankings
COLUMBUS – Perrysburg and Eastwood are both in the top 10 of the weekly football computer ratings from
the Ohio High School Athletic Association. The top eight teams in each region advance to regional
quarterfinals.
In Division I, Region 2, Perrysburg is ninth
In Division IV, Region 14, Eastwood is eighth.
