Prep Roundup: Otsego volleyball scores two wins

Otsego’s volleyball team improved to 6-0 with two wins Saturday.
The Knights defeated Liberty-Benton and Evergreen in a tri-match in Metamora. Otsego defeated L-B, 25-23,
25-17; and Evergreen, 25-19, 25-23.
Leaders for the Knights against L-B were: Autumn Berry, 17 assists, three aces; Baley Bernthisel, eight
kills, three blocks, two aces; and Karessia Rowell, six kills. No leaders were reported for the
Evergreen match.
NB loses twice
At Arlington, North Baltimore lost both matches of a triangular-meet with Arlington and Ada. Arlington
defeated NB, 25-5, 25-12; and Ada defeated NB, 25-16, 25-27, 28-26.
Leaders for NB against Arlington were: Mackenzie Carpenter, five assists; and Emily Rayle, three digs.

Leaders for NB in the Ada match were: Taylor Boyer, 18 digs; Leona Euler, nine kills, four blocks; and
Tearra Huitt, eight kills.
Rossford sweeps Arcadia
At Rossford, the Bulldogs won the non-league match, 25-21, 25-14, 25-9.
Leaders for Rossford were: Abbie Riehm, five kills, five digs, two blocks; Annie Riehm, 13 assists, four
kills, seven digs, two blocks, two aces; Abby Stahl, nine digs, four kills; and Cassidy Gauthier, 12
digs.
BOYS SOCCER
Eastwood 4, Wauseon 1
At Luckey, Patrick Brogan, Sasha Ashton, Caleb Vespi, and Ryan Sieving scored for Eastwood.
Brogan had two assists, and Vespi and Ashton each had one. Aaron Brinker made six saves.
Rossford 3, Bryan 0
At Bryan, John Lydy, Zach Leahy and Seth Johnson each scored a goal for Rossford.
The Bulldogs’ A.J. Hackney and Blake Hughes each had an assist. Andrew McFarland made nine saves.
BGHS 2, Lake 2
Lake scored twice in the final minutes of the game to earn a tie in a non-league game.
Brandon Carrick and Matt Zirkes scored for BG, 3-1-2 overall. James Fite was in goal, making four saves.

Lake’s scorers were not reported.
GIRLS SOCCER
Whitmer 3, BGHS 2
Anna Erman and Josie Benson scored for BG, and Marissa Milligan made 18 saves.
BOYS GOLF
Lake 2nd at Tiger Invitational
At Birch Run, Arlington shot 326 as a team to take first at the Tiger Invitational.
Lake finished second at 339. North Baltimore was fifth, 367; and Otsego was ninth, 377.
Scores for Lake were: Casey Witt and Nate Yeager, 79 each; Jake Materni, 89; and Nate Lowe, 92.
Scores for NB were: Matt Archer, 85; Andrew Peters, 90; and Peter Euler and Marcello Trevino, 96 each.

Scores for Otsego were: Matt Weisenborn, 85; Ricky Girona, 90; Austin Wickard, 100; and Jason Thomas and
Kevin Vollmar, 102 each.
Junior varsity results
FOOTBALL
Eastwood defeated Oak Harbor, 32-7. The Eagles are 3-0.
