The Eastwood boys golf team took first at the second Suburban Lakes League Shootout of the season on
Friday.
The Eagles finished with a score of 159, 11 strokes ahead of second-place Woodmore. Eastwood’s Austin
Speck earned first individually, shooting an even-par 37.
The team scores were: 1) Eastwood, 159; 2) Woodmore, 170; 3) Genoa, 175; 4) Gibsonburg, 178; 5) Elmwood,
178; 6) Lake, 185; 7) Otsego, 192. Gibsonburg earned fourth place over Elmwood due to its fifth-man
score.
Eastwood scores were: Speck, 37; Jon Juergens, 38; Tommy Blanchard, 40; and Austin LaVoy, 44.
Elmwood’s scores were: Kyle Smithey, 42; Cody King, 42; Nick Schumaker, 44; and Josh Schnipke, 50.
Lake’s scores were: Casey Witt, 44; Nate Yeager, 46; Jake Materni, 46; and Cole Brossia, 49.
Otsego’s scores were: Matt Weisenborn, 43; Ricky Girona, 46; Austin Wickard, 51; and Kevin Vollmar, 52.

Eastwood sweeps Gibsonburg
Eastwood improved to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the Suburban Lakes League with a 25-8, 25-17, 25-7 win over
Gibsonburg.
Eastwood’s leaders were: Whitney Hoodlebrink, eight kills, 13 digs, five aces; Katie Primeau, 28 assists;
Courtney Rolf, eight kills, seven digs; Jordan Frobose, seven kills; Christine Foster, 11 digs; and
Brittney Firsdon, three kills.
