Dorothy Boomer has become an independent beautician at The Wave, 1351?2 E. Court St.
A beautician for 10 years, she got her training at the Toledo Academy of Beauty Culture.
Boomer worked eight years for a Bowling Green salon but is now working on her own at The Wave.
She is available by appointment at (419) 353-9283 Wednesdays and Thursdays from noon to 8 p.m.; Fridays,
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and most Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Boomer offers all beautician services for women, men and children, including coloring, highlights,
haircuts, styles, conditioning treatments, perms and facial waxing.
New clients will receive a 20 percent discount off of coloring or highlight services.

Allene “Lena”
Carlile

Financial professional Allene “Lena” Carlile has earned her master of science in Finance from Walsh
College of Accountancy and Business Administration. The announcement was made by Tim Mackie, executive
vice president of the Northern Division of AXA Advisors and branch manager in Troy, Mich.
Carlile used to reside in Bowling Green. She now lives in Grosse Pointe Park, Mich.
“Earning her master of science in finance degree from Walsh College shows an extensive commitment to
clients and to her continuing education,” commented Mackie.
Carlile has three years of experience in the financial services industry. She focuses on helping
individuals and business owners achieve their financial goals, and provide an array of financial
protection and investment products and services including life insurance, annuities and investments as
well as college, estate, retirement and business planning strategies.
Carlile earned a master of education degree from the University of Toledo in 1995. She is active in
community and professional organizations including Grosse Pointe Park Foundation, National Association
of Women Business Owners and Junior League of Detroit.
