Put-in-Bay has wine festival, Oktoberfest on tap

PUT-IN-BAY – A wine festival and Oktoberfest highlight the fall events scheduled at Put-in-Bay.
The 7th annual Island Wine Festival will be held on Oct. 3. The festival takes place 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
under the Big Top in DeRivera Park.
Representatives from wineries across the United States will offer samples of more than 250 award-winning
wines. Entry to the wine festival is $5.
The Doller House & Museum, which showcases island life in the past 100 years at former Put-in-Bay
mayor and businessman Valentine Doller’s historic 1897 home, introduced a winery this season that will
feature wines from across Ohio and beyond.
The Oktoberfest will be held Oct. 10-11 in DeRivera Park.
It will feature live German music and polkas, as well as authentic food including beverages and desserts
prepared by island businesses.
Other fall events will include:
¥ Halloween at the Bay is scheduled for Oct. 24.
¥ Miller Boat Line 5K & 1-Mile Family Fun Walk will be held on Sept. 26. About 450 runners and
walkers competed around the shoreline of the island last year.
Registration starts at 8 a.m., and the events start at 9:15 a.m.

¥ Art in the Park will be held Sept. 12 in DeRivera Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Area and regional
artists, photographers, potters, painters, silversmiths, fabric artists, glass artists and stained glass
artists display and sell their work.
¥ Other activities planned for Sept. 11 to 13 include a Boy Scout Camporee, grand parade, vintage
baseball, a military encampment, musket and cannon firing demonstrations and open house at Gibraltar
Island/Stone Laboratory.
