Area families can find quality childcare and preschool services for their children now for the new school
year at any WSOS Child Development Center.
Currently, the WSOS Head Start/Early Childhood Development Program is enrolling income-eligible children
birth to 5 years old. Centers are located in Bowling Green, Pemberville, Rossford and Perrysburg.
Options for families include full and half-day classes for the child and/or home visitation services.
Eligible families are those whose total annual income does not exceed 100 percent of the federal poverty
guidelines ($22,050 for a family of four) for Early Head Start/Head Start and 200 percent for Public
School Preschool. Children with special needs are also eligible for these services.
The service provided at WSOS is a comprehensive early childhood and family program. It provides children
with age-appropriate educational services in addition to health and nutrition services, and social
services for the entire family.
The center in Pemberville has earned a Thee-Star Step Up to Quality award from the Ohio Department of Job
and Family Services (DJFS), Bureau of Childcare and Development. The WSOS Jordan Family Development
Center in Bowling Green has earned a One-Star Step Up to Quality award and is the only center in the
city serving infants with such a quality designation. Rossford and Perrysburg centers have not applied
for the quality designation yet.
