BG heavy trash pickup next week
Bowling Green will conduct a heavy item pickup the week of Aug. 10.
Eligible items are furniture, most appliances, bedding and similar items.
Appliances not allowed are refrigerators, freezers, dehumidifers and air conditioners.
No more than three mattresses will be collected per home.
To ensure pickup, all items should be curbside by 7 a.m. Aug. 10. Once a crew completes a street, they
will not return.
This is not a brush or leaf pickup.
BG food programs to operate Friday
Both the monthly Bowling Green food distribution and Senior Food Box will operate Friday from 9:30 to 11
a.m.
Both are operating at First United Methodist Church, 1526 E. Wooster St.
Haskins committee meets Thursday
HASKINS – The Haskins Village Rules and Ordinance Committee will meet Thursday in the town hall at 7:30
a.m. The purpose of this meeting is various topics.
BG gets new fire pumper
Bowling Green has taken delivery of a new fire pumper, which was ordered more than a year ago.
The vehicle has been put in service at the west-side station and replaces a pumper purchased in the early
1980s.
Semi-truck crash hurts Mich. man
A Michigan man was taken to the hospital by air ambulance after his truck rolled on the interstate.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported this morning that a vehicle driven by James M. VanAvery, 30, of
Michigan, was traveling southbound along I-75 Monday at about 5 p.m. when the 2007 Kenworth truck drove
off the right side of the road around milepost 175, struck a ditch and overturned.
VanAvery was transported by Life Flight to University of Toledo Medical Center.
No citations have been issued yet as a result of the accident.
